Very well written. The issue is real and everyone is ignoring it. I have a lot of male senior developers in my network, and I see them job hopping more than younger ones, because the companies come with so much bullshit that doesn’t allow them to have a life outside work or deal with adult lives.

The worst is for the younger people to think this is normal, and, like you said, put off their lives/kids/families until they’re in their mid thirties.

I wrote something similar but around the topic of building trust: a mom of 2 doesn’t want to build trust on a team building event after work. The trust should be professional, and that trust is built at work, in a safe environment, with good processes.

I’m not sure Facebook suffers from this as much as smaller companies, but surely, the differences between teams is substantial and some suffer more than others.

Strong opinions, loosely held.
