The cost of not taking action

“I don’t know how”

“I’m not good enough”

“I don’t have any help”

“Others are better than me”

“I’m too busy”

“It can wait”

These are popular excuses to not take action, and they are only as valid as you let them be.

Who do you think is missing out by you not taking action? It’s you, but it’s future you. Present you is lazy and only focused on what he knows how to do, unless present you takes action, future you will be just as useless.

Put present you in future you’s shoes. In a year, what are you doing? Do you want the same fears to be on your mind? Do you want to be in the same place? Do you want to look the same or drive the same car?

TL;DR; The cost of not taking action is trading your own development for whatever you decide to do instead.

You know what needs to be done, stop reading and start acting.

I’ve modified this quote for myself at this time because I’m going through a non-action taking moment:

“The only way to get started is to quit talking(and writing on medium.com) and begin doing.” — Walt Disney and Amando Abreu
